Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry(BERA)

BERA (Brainstem Evoked Response Audiometry) is an objective hearing test used to evaluate the hearing nerve and auditory pathways up to the brainstem. It is commonly used to assess hearing in newborns, infants, young children, and individuals who cannot respond reliably to conventional hearing tests. BERA is non-invasive and painless, and the patient is usually relaxed or asleep during the procedure. It is useful for detecting hearing loss, estimating hearing thresholds in infants, and identifying auditory nerve or brainstem disorders.
