Impedance Audiometry / Tympanometry
Impedance Audiometry (also called Tympanometry) is an objective test used to evaluate the function of the middle ear. It helps determine how well the eardrum (tympanic membrane) and middle ear bones are working. This test is quick, painless, and does not require active participation, making it useful for both adults and children. It helps detect conditions such as middle ear infections, fluid in the ear, Eustachian tube dysfunction, perforated eardrum, and ossicular problems.
